Monthly Meeting: The Old Halton County Gaol

Guest Speaker: Bill McGath

Mr. McGath will be speaking about his ongoing research regarding the old Halton County Gaol. – “Did Milton have one of the worst gaols (jails) in Ontario prior to 1879?” Presentation will include images of 1858 and 1861, Gaol plans along with drawings, what locks were used, what prisoners were fed as well as what it may have been like to be in gaol etc. Mr. McGath would certainly appreciate any information you may have re: photos, artifacts or anecdotes that you maybe aware of!

Note: Members must Pre-Register: confirmation will be on a first come, first served basis. Members can register up until the Monday before the meeting – confirmation to follow.
