Monthly Meeting: Rural Diaries

Thursday March 19th, 7:30 p.m.

Rural Diaries
Speaker: Dr. Catherine Wilson

Please mark your calendar for our March 19th, 7:30 pm monthly meeting series, as we welcome Dr. Catherine Wilson, University of Guelph, Professor Emeritus and Director of the Rural Diary Archives website.

Dr. Wilson will help us uncover the lives of Rural Families. In 2015 she and the University of Guelph launched the Rural Diary archives showcasing over 200 diaries from 1800 to 1960 in Ontario. These diaries were transcribed by volunteers and then digitized. Dr. Wilson’s presentation will illustrate some of the diaries from the collection including some from Halton as well as the importance in using diaries in you own research at: https://ruraldiaries.uoguelph.ca
