Heritage at Risk: Milton’s Downtown Historic Core

The Milton Historical Society, along with many in our community, has become aware of the proposal to build a huge two tower condo complex along Mill Street from James Street to Montgomery Lane in the heart of our Heritage Character District.

The developers are hoping for approvals and completion in approximately 5 years.

Update January 16, 2016:

The Town has sent out notification to the surrounding area regarding the condo application which has now been submitted. This development is purposed for The Downtown Core of old Milton on Main Street and will cover part of Mill Street as well .

For those of you who are concerned about this condo development we encourage you to leave comments on the Save Old Milton Facebook page.

Keep watch on the Save Old Milton website as the steering committee will be adding updates shortly! As well there has been a petition made to try and stop this development please sign it and share this with friends.

VICTORY DECLARED – Update on “Town of Milton: Stop the  proposed massive condominium complex development in Downtown Core of Historic Milton”.

The Milton Historical Society is very please to announce the following information:

Jun 28, 2016 — It is with great pleasure to inform all the signatories of Save Old Milton petition that last night the Town of Milton Council rejected  the application for the proposed development trouve. The vote was a unanimous 9 – 0. On behalf of the Save Old Milton Steering Committee they would  like to thank everyone who signed and shared the petition and most of  all, for your passionate comments and sincere desire to reject this project.

SOM and MHS will continue to monitor any future developments or appeals regarding this project etc.
