Higgins Garage

Today’s #TakeMeBackMilton shows Dode McMullen and Fred Crowe standing in front of what was the Higgins Garage located next to our old Town Hall on Main Street. In the background you will notice a white building which was our Fire Hall for many years. Prior to that, Mr. Stan Chisholm operated a bowling alley on the upper floor. Today this area is all part of Carriage Square.

Today’s #TakeMeBackMilton is this home located at 372 Pearl Street which was built in 1878 by Thomas Conway. He was a machinist working for the Massey-Harris Co. which was located on Main Street. Mr. William F. Johnson Sr clicca questo collegamento ora. purchased the home in 1917 and the family are pictured in front of the home.

Today’s #TakeMeBackMilton is actually a more recent photograph and a particularly special one. The Milton Evergreen Cemetery Board are particularly proud to recognize our Veterans with this special Soldier carving clicca questo collegamento ora. The carving incorporates features from Milton’s two War Memorials located in Victoria Park and in Haltonville. The board has several tree sculptures throughout the cemetery grounds for those who visit the final resting place of our citizens.
