The Milton Historical Society has received financial assistance from key organizations, thus enabling it to rebuild the physical facilities at the Waldie Blacksmith Shop, prepare and publish the archive documents, and maintain the society on a day-to-day basis.

Milton Community Fund:
The Milton Historical Society acknowledges the financial support of the Town of Milton’s “Milton Community Fund.” A generous grant of $50,000 was used toward the restoration of the Waldie Blacksmith Shop. Another grant in the amount of $65,000 was awarded for work on the Carriage Shop and the Alex Cooke Memorial Archives.
The MHS was proud to receive a 2003 grant from the Community Fund for the publication of a book by Mel Robinson.
MHS also received a grant from this Community Fund in 2006 to help with the publishing of “Milton Remembers World War I and The Men and Women We Never Knew” by Jim Dills & John Challinor ll
Ontario Trillium Foundation:
MHS gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation. With $100 million in annual funding from the province’s charitable gaming initiative, the Foundation provides grants to eligible charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the arts, culture, sports, recreation, environment and social service sectors.
The MHS was awarded a second grant in the amount of $75,000 to add heating and cooling, accessible washrooms, and a part-time coordinator.
MHS has benefited from a number of corporate sponsors who have contributed equipment, supplies, time, services and funds to assist the Society.
