This is the story of one small Ontario
town - Milton and area - during World War I.
It's the story of more than 80 fromm the area who were killed in
service, more than 450 who served and the battles they fought.
It is the story of life in the community, the support generated
for the war and the crushing news of fatality or injury that came
too often.
More that 170 pictures record those who served and the
community of their origin. Community life around the 164th
Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force is recounted and the
book concludes with the post-war construction of the Cenotaphs at
Victoria Park and Haltonville.
