You must
be at least 18 years of age. Maximum enrolment - 4
students per class and minimum enrolment is 2 students per
class.

Course
Requirements:
|
|
Students
will be supplied with an anvil, hammers, and safety
glasses.
|
|
|
Students
must wear natural fibre clothing (cotton or wool), a
hat, leather shoes/boots, and gloves.
|
|
|
Students
should bring their own brown bag lunch.
|
|
|
ALL
students will be required to sign a waiver releasing
the MHS and the instructor from liability for any
personal injury or damage. Upon signing the waiver and
registration form, the MHS assumes that the student has
read the Shop Safety Guidelines and agrees to adhere to
them.

Introduction
to Blacksmithing Level One:
Basic
beginner introductory class where you will learn the
traditional art of Blacksmithing. No experience required.
This is a one-day beginner class where students will be
taught fire lighting, hammering techniques, drawing out
steel, etc. Students will complete a simple project.

Beginner
Blacksmithing Level Two:
The
Beginner course is intended to develop basic skills. Some
of the things that will be taught include fire lighting,
introduction to tools, hammering techniques, etc.
Heat-treating and tempering will be introduced. Students
will complete various projects, which they will take home.
You must have taken Level One or have had some previous
experience.
Dates:
April 30, May 1, 2 and November 19,
20, 21 Time:
Friday 6:00 - 10:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to
