About Us

Home Society Sponsors Foundation Awards

The Milton Historical Society was founded in 1977. Our first goal was preservation of the County Court House and Jail, which had been abandoned after being so much a part of the community for well over a century. The Town later acquired the property for $1 and had the building magnificently restored.

Since its initial project our Society has carried out many other activities described more fully in web pages on this site.

The society is now involved in a number of activities that are focused on "keeping the history alive".
building restorations and plaques
education, tours and seminars
photo and document archives
books, videos and web sites

Renovation of the Waldie Blacksmith Shop

Old Court House Restoration
(now Milton Town Hall)
